Digital Switch Over completed for Waltham transmitter group

The Digital Switch Over process for the Waltham transmitter group, serving the East Midlands, has been successfully implemented by Arqiva.

Digital multiplexes are now being transmitted at high power from the main station at Waltham and, for the first time, from its 15 dependent relays at Ambergate, Ashbourne, Ashford in the Water, Belper, Birchover, Bolehill, Darley Dale, Derby, Eastwood, Leicester, Little Eaton, Matlock, Parwich, Stamford and Stanton Moor.

The SDN multiplex at Waltham adopts its final DSO channel and power on 12 October 2011,as planned.

Following the analogue switch-off for BBC Two on 17 August, the remaining analoguesignals for BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 ceased by 00:35 on Wednesday 31 August.
