(New York City, April 6, 2011) – The World Teleport Association announced the appointment of a new Chairman and Secretary General to lead the Board of Directors, as well as of a new member of the Board representing the EMEA region. At its March Board meeting, M. Brett Belinsky, Strategy & Business Development Director for Arqiva Broadcast & Media, was named as Chairman, with Norberto Alvarez Vitale, CEO of Teleport Internacional Buenos Aires, as its Secretary General and Chief Administrative Officer.
Mr. Belinsky takes the reins from Chris Russell, Co-founder of Teleport London International and partner in Henley Partners International, who is stepping down at the end of his second and final term on WTA’s Board. Mr. Alvarez replaces Mr. Belinsky, who served previously as acting Secretary General.
Joining the Board at its March meeting was new director Koby Zontag, Senior Director, Sales & Business Development for RRsat Global Communications. Mr. Zontag was appointed to fill the position vacated by Mr. Russell and will be elected in his own right in the second quarter of 2011.
"WTA owes a debt of gratitude to Chris Russell for his six years of service as Chairman, during which the association has significantly stepped up its delivery of value to members and its strategic importance to the industry,” said Mr. Belinsky of his predecessor. "The collaborative and activist culture he forged on the Board will continue in support of substantial step change in the coming year.”
In addition to these Officers and Directors, the members of WTA’s Board of Directors include: Anita Currie, President, Edge Consulting Limited; Gary Hatch, CEO, ATCi; David Justin, CEO, GlobeCast America; Michael Noon, Senior Vice President, Ground Infrastructure, SES Engineering; Serge Van Herck, CEO, Newtec; and M.N. Vyas, Director, Essel Shyam Communication Limited.
