PRODUCT OF THE MONTH

Vocality International has announced the release of the V50+ and V150 to replace the existing V50 and V100. These units join the V25 and V200, released in early 2006 and currently deployed worldwide.

Everyone knows - if you want a router, you look at Cisco. However, if you want a router, and your system is being deployed over satellite, your attention may be drawn to three important factors:

  • Is it the most bandwidth efficient system available?
  • Will it stand up to the physical demands of the installation and deployment?
  • Do I need to make maximum use of limited rack space?

Vocality manufactures routers for use in mobile and fixed satellite networks. They are designed to be easy to use, optimized for high latency and low bandwidth applications, and physically small and reliable.

The V50+ and V150 are designed to provide increased capacity and functionality over the V25 and V200 while maintaining the "bandwidth efficiencies” that have always been core to our products. The V50+ delivers high performance TCP/IP bridge routing as well as Vocality's popular satellite optimised multiplexing capability. On this platform, users can create their own multiplexer configuration, depending upon their application. The V150 offers full multiplexing and routing capabilities with a flexible range of cards and features. Combined with redundant power and redundancy across option cards, the V150 is the ideal solution for anyone deploying mission critical services.

Already the centerpiece of dozens of defense networks already and gaining global acceptance as the VSAT voice and data gateway of choice are the V200 and V25. The V25 is possibly the world’s smallest router/multiplexer and TCP accelerator. It is certainly Vocality’s smallest! Weighing in at no more than a can of soda, the V25 delivers a couple of POTS phones for low cost commumications, but it can also deliver up to 30 VoIP circuits, secure voice for DoD applications, and a range of serial and IP services. This tiny device is as at home on the back of a hand portable BGAN unit as it is on an iDirect, Comtech EF Data, Paradise Datacom or Radyne satellite modem.

At the other extreme, the V200 is Vocality’s highest specified hub device. Offering hundreds of voice circuits – digital or VoIP – and data, the solution is the "must-try” solution of the year from Vocality.

Vocality offers solutions to match the demands of the mobile satellite communications and military user, including hand portable and major infrastructure solutions. The current range of products ranges from 2 voice channel solutions through to powerful chassis hubs offering hundreds of voice circuits.
