GlobeCast's WING Content Exchange: The Ultimate Video Share Platform for Professional Broadcast

SERVICE OF THE MONTH

GlobeCast's proprietary IP-based WING platform and collaboration tools ensure stable and secure video file sharing for professional broadcast enabling producers to capture and upload video via any Internet connection to WING exchange servers that ingest, store, and route content to the studio. The result is a powerful management tool for news organizations, ad agencies and corporate producers to control their global contribution network of nomadic, freelance and field staff producers under one platform.

How Does It Work?

WING File (video file transfer) sends files to all or select members of your community from a single upload and is inspired by IMAP and SMTP email protocols. There is no limit to file size or type. In case of interruption, the transfer process picks up from the last packet delivered. Low speed connections do not degrade files.

WING Live's real-time video streaming is a major advantage compared to other systems. Senders select from multiple encoding options (VC1, MPEG-4 H264, etc.) and the system automatically configures the recipient's PC to the settings defined. WING routinely updates users with latest-version encoders.

WING Chat is specifically designed for real-time text collaboration between online community users.

WING Cam is a video-audio coordination channel used to facilitate communication between the remote site and the studio.

Network Requirements

User PC requires Windows XP with a 1.5 GHz processor or faster, minimum 512 MB of RAM (or 1GB RAM for WING Live), a USB port and IEEE1394 port. WING functions on any available network supporting IP protocol, including public gateways (DSL, WiFi hot spot) or dedicated access ( two-way satellite link, IP VPN, or other).
