SatLink Communications, ranked as the fastest growing teleport of 2007 by WTA, and Brazilian Catholic channel TV Cancao Nova announced the launch of expansion of services into the Asian market on SatLink's AsiaSat 2 MCPC platform. With the Vatican's representatives in the Holy Land (Custodia di Terra Santa) already connected to SatLink's teleport via fiber optics, this move is yet another step in the growing relationship between the two.

TV Cancao Nova is already globally present on a range of satellites, but the channel's launch on AsiaSat 2 is its first step into Asia and the Pacific region. The channel maintains a differentiated programming in the television scene, with spirituality, journalism, children's programs, events, interviews, discussions, music, entertainment, culture, and promotional programs.

Located at 100.5 degrees East, AsiaSat 2 provides unprecedented regional power and coverage. The C-band beam covers China, India, Indonesia and other mass markets, altogether reaching 53 countries and regions in Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, CIS and Australasia. AsiaSat 2's excellent ground penetration guarantees instantaneous access to numerous cable operators, rebroadcasters, embassies, hotels and individual home viewers and listeners in the region. AsiaSat 2 also includes the largest number of foreign channels authorized by the Chinese government, and many of these are transmitted directly from SatLink's teleport.
