Arqiva was one of a select group of contributors to an Oscar Night extravaganza to remember. The "Oscar Night at Mr Chow” viewing dinner and after-party, presented by Leeza Gibbons and Olivia Newton-John in association with David Foster, brought together stars from film, TV, music, sports, and fashion in a first-of-its-kind event dedicated to advocacy, volunteerism, philanthropy, and giving back to our community.

The live event took place on February 22 from the famed Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. From this "living set,” a live webcast, produced and directed by Marc Scarpa, was streamed from the event’s website at www.leezagibbonsoscarnight.com as well as on various partner websites, including www.variety.com, www.extratv.com and www.glam.com. Arqiva provided the satellite newsgathering trucks, satellite transponder time, teleport services, and live encoding of the event, then working with IP services and content distribution provider Highwinds to distribute the webcast to the various partner websites.

Arqiva Satellite & Media offers a complete broadcast distribution solution for Occasional Use customers including entertainment, sports and news. With 10 international teleports and a dedicated fiber network, occasional SNG and flyaway units, as well as full service studios Arqiva quickly and effectively redistributes video in standard or high definition. Arqiva’s state-of-the-art infrastructure also accommodates real-time encoding to support a wide variety of media formats.

Arqiva operates at the heart of the broadcast and mobile communications industry and is at the forefront of network solutions and services in an increasingly digital world. The company provides much of the infrastructure behind television, radio and wireless communications in the UK and has a growing presence in Ireland, mainland Europe and the USA. There are three operating divisions:  Terrestrial Broadcast, Satellite & Media and Wireless.
