SupremeSAT signs In Orbit delivery contract for SupremeSAT - II

SupremeSAT (Pvt) Ltd (SupremeSAT), a privately owned regional satellite service provider, is proud to announce that it has signed a US$ 215 Mn contract with China
Great Wall Industry Corporation for the design, manufacture and launch of the SupremeSAT-II satellite. The targeted launch date is mid 2016. The agreement was
signed in China this week in the presence of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Chinese President Xi Jinping, during the recent visit of President Rajapaksa to China.
China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC), exclusive partners of SupremeSAT in the satellite/space program is the sole commercial organization authorized by the Chinese government to provide satellites, commercial launch services and to carry out international space cooperation. To date the company has successfully launched 43 satellites and 37 launch services for foreign clients, covering 18 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Oceania.
SupremeSAT – II satellite will be based on the DFH – 4 (Dongfanghong) satellite platform. DFH-4 is the third generation communications satellite bus in China with high power, strong payload capacity and a extended service life. It consists of a propulsion module, service modules and solar arrays. Long March 3B has been selected as the launch vehicle for SupremeSAT-II, it being the most powerful rocket in the Long March fleet is ideally suited for launching heavy telecommunications satellite into geostationary transfer orbit.
SupremeSAT – II will have a service life span of 15 years and will provide communication and broadcasting services. The preliminary design for the payload will consist of upto 33 36 MHz transponder equivalents. The final specifications including the satellite footprint will be finalized shortly based on customer requirements and market demand. The potential customer list includes large-scale private corporations to governments including the Government of Afghanistan, which has already shortlisted SupremeSAT for the launch of the satellite into their orbital slot of 50 degrees East.
With regards to SupremeSAT – I (jointly owned satellite) which was successfully launched in November 2012, SupremeSAT wishes to announce that it has successfully completed all its in-orbit-tests (IOTs) and has recently been positioned in its assigned orbital slot of 87.5° East longitude. During the IOTs it has been confirmed that the satellite is in good health and will achieve a service life of 15 years as expected and that the power levels and beam contours are better than expected. Commercial operations will begin shortly.
